Collection
The Music and Score collection consists of nearly 40 000 items, most of them published between 1969 and 2008. A collection of antique, rare and valuable items from the 19th and 20th century is also kept here. The collection includes sheet music for a variety of different instruments; classical music, opera and ballet, folk music, jazz, film music, pop and rock music and other genres. There are over 6500 books in the collection: reference books, textbooks, and methodologies, special and popular editions.
The record collection consists of over 60 000 vinyl discs and 700 CDs. Most of the vinyl records were published in the USSR and Russia from the mid-1960s to the late 1990s. Some of the items in the vinyl collection were released in Eastern European countries, in Cuba etc.
Facilities
Sheet music and records are in open access in the library as CD players, gramophones and a digital piano. Moscow and Moscow region residents can check out vinyl records, books and sheet music. Materials can be copied (in accordance with Russian copyright laws). Exhibitions, concerts, workshops and other events are held regularly.
