This richly illustrated book explores the production, trade, and consumption of ceramics in Hangzhou during the Song dynasty. The two famous imperial kilns — Xiuneisi and Jiaotanxia — along with the Tianmu kiln, reflect the flourishing of ceramic production. As a major consumer centre, Hangzhou gathered exquisite wares from northern and southern workshops, as well as from Goryeo (Korea).
