«Twelve Letters to Young People» is a collection of articles by Mr. Zhu Guangqian published in the magazine «Yiban» in the 1920s. Each letter begins with «Friend,» and every sentence reveals Mr. Zhu Guangqian’s humor and sincerity. In addition, eight articles written to young people from other works by Zhu Guangqian are selected and compiled into «Another Message to Young People,» encouraging them to be ambitious, confident, and hardworking. This book also includes six biographical anecdotes about Zhu Guangqian, revealing that this founder of modern Chinese aesthetics was also a humorous, witty, and open-hearted person in private, from his personal experiences, career, and relationships with others.
