«I am as Timid as a Mouse» is a short story written by contemporary Chinese writer Yu Hua. It was first published in the 9th issue of Donghai in 1996 (published under the title «My Story»). It describes the events of people mocking him from the perspective of a mildly mentally retarded person, showing another discourse position of avant-garde novels.
