The author, a professional staff member on the Education and Labor Committe of U.S. House of Representative during the consideration of the ADA, was directly involved in drafting amendments of the ADA and explaining the legislation to others. She worked with representatives of the Executive Branch, as well as the disability and business communities as the lew evolved. She was thus in a position to directly observe and affect the progress of the legislation. This experience is reflected in the thoughtful and balanced presentation of the Act contained in the primer. The author has a disability, celebral palsy, that brings this simple description of the ADA a heightened power and credibility.
