D.H. Lawrence s second novel, The Trespasser, is based on the diary of Helen Corke, a friend of Lawrence whose adulterous relationship with a married man led to his suicide. Lawrence has become famous for exploring the dehumanizing effects of modernity and industrialization in his writings, along with human sexuality and emotional well-being.
