Fr™d™ric tente de la s™duire, sans s'engager dans une relation s™rieuse, et leur relation commence mais progressivement il ressent de plus en plus de sentiments amoureux. Au front, dans les environs de Gorizia, Fr™d™ric est bless™ par un tir de mortier et est transf™r™ ђ l'h¤pital am™ricain de Milan, o© Catherine est ™galement affect™e.
