Kirja on osa Nordicomics.info- hanketta. Se luotiin "Kirja viikossa"- työpajassa kansainvälisellä Komiks.dk- sarjakuvafestivaalilla Kööpenhaminassa toukokuussa 2010. Kirja on syntynyt Pohjoismaisten sarjakuvataiteilijoiden ja kuvittajien yhteistyönä.

Nordicomics.info. Helsinki workshop. August 2009 — 2010

The Nordicomics.info exhibition explores the contemporary Nordic comics through debuting artists from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. What do Nordic countries have in common? Is it reasonable to talk about the Nordic comics on the whole? The Nordic comics cultures do have similar traits. New artists and publishers are constantly emerging. The field is lively and international in all of the countries, with all kinds of different activities. However, the artists often remain unknown outside their own country. The artists presented in the exhibition are Simon Bukhave and Christian Skovgaard from Denmark, Anna Sailamaa, Kaisa Leka and Aino Sutinen from Finland, Rui Tenreiro, Martin Ernststen and Bendik Kaltenborn from Norway and Emelie Östergren, Joanna Hellgren, Kolbeinn Karlsson, Joakim Ojanen and Clara Johansson from Sweden. The Nordicomics.info exhibition is touring in Nordic countries. The first exhibition was held in Helsinki August 2009 with a workshop. After that the exhibition has been in Oslo, Stockholm and in Copenhagen. Different adjoin events will take place alongside the exhibition with the artist included in the exhibition and the local artist. The exhibition is supported by the Nordic Culture Point and Nordisk Kulturfond.
